The holiday season is the most wonderful time of the year, a great time to spend with friends and family. To give back, the ET Design-Build family spent some time together helping the community.  In December, team members from ET’s local office went to Open Hand Atlanta. They spent several hours packing meals for the neighboring community. In total, they packed between 600-800 meals.

Open Hand Atlanta began in 1988, by founder Michael Edwards-Pruitt.  Open Hand Atlanta cooks and delivers meals to people with HIV and other critical illnesses, the disabled, and the homebound elderly. The organization seeks to feed people who may be physically unable to prepare meals themselves.

Open Hand Atlanta is an amazing organization, and ET Design-Build was more than happy to team up with them to bring healthy and nutritious food to those whom need it most. On any typical day, Open Hand packs and delivers 5,000 meals. It’s no surprise their grocery bill is $85,000 a week.

After 4 hours of packing meals, Bill Higginbotham described the day as tiring but extremely rewarding. The impact of our contributions will bring joy and full bellies to many people. Cheers to everyone who made it out to the event, and to those who were with us in spirit!
