WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT EXPANSION

Construction management services for the upgrades and expansion of a waste treatment plant at a dairy processor’s production facility in New York State. This project provides additional capacity and supports the client’s goals for product increases and diversification. The system includes new equalization and aeration basins, support buildings and systems, SAF and MBR advanced technologies, controls, and overall upgrades and expansion of the waste treatment plant. Project was contracted on a CMAR basis and released in subsequent funding phases based on design progress and issuance of updated estimates.

This project was completed while working an operating food production site. It required close coordination so as not to affect the operations, food safety and logistics of the facility and keeping the existing waste treatment plant operational. Concrete basins were constructed during one of the coldest winters in New York in the last 30 years.

Innovative elements include the implementation of MBR technology, the use of SAF (Suspended Air Flotation) units and Turbo Blowers to maximize throughput of the facility and cleaner discharge to a river in upstate New York.
