By now, most people have heard of the financial benefits of compressed natural gas (CNG) as a transportation fuel. The national average price for a gallon of diesel fuel was $3.86 while the average diesel cost in Wisconsin averaged $3.91* as of March 14, 2014. ET Environmental’s boots on the ground reported CNG selling for $2.37 per gallon equivalent in the Milwaukee area. At a savings of $1.54 per gallon equivalent, CNG definitely makes financial “cents.”
