ET has been awarded a new design-build project to develop a modern waste hauling facility in Moreau, New York, for Casella Waste, supporting the continued growth of one of the Northeast’s leading providers of waste, recycling, and resource management services.
Founded in 1975, Casella has grown into one of the region’s largest fully integrated environmental services companies, providing collection, transfer, disposal, recycling, and resource management solutions to residential, commercial, municipal, and industrial customers across the eastern United States. With a long-standing commitment to sustainability and operational excellence, the company continues to invest in infrastructure that improves service, efficiency, and environmental performance.
The new facility will be built on a 23-acre greenfield site along Route 9 in the Town of Moreau, New York. Once complete, it will give Casella’s Fort Edward hauling division a modern, purpose-built home and support continued growth throughout Saratoga and Washington Counties.
ET’s scope covers design and construction of the complete facility: a pre-engineered metal building housing administrative and operations offices, a multi-bay fleet maintenance shop and a truck wash bay; a separate storage building; a fueling island with canopy; and the site infrastructure to support daily fleet operations, including truck and container parking, paving, stormwater management, an on-site water supply and fire protection storage.
Design is underway now, with construction expected to begin in spring 2027 and the facility to open in early 2028.
As one of the nation’s leading design-build firms serving the waste and recycling industry, ET brings more than three decades of experience designing and constructing complex solid waste infrastructure. From hauling facilities and transfer stations to material recovery facilities (MRFs), maintenance facilities, landfill infrastructure, renewable natural gas (RNG) facilities, and supporting civil infrastructure, ET partners with clients to deliver efficient, safe, and cost-effective solutions from concept through construction.
“This award reflects the trust our clients place in ET to deliver facilities that support long-term operational success,” said Steve Arnold, Executive Vice President of ET’s Environmental Division. “We appreciate the opportunity to partner on another important solid waste infrastructure project and look forward to delivering a facility that will serve Casella and the region for decades to come.”
ET is proud to continue supporting the evolving needs of the waste and recycling industry by delivering innovative design-build solutions that help clients operate more efficiently, safely, and sustainably.
