Supporting Our Heroes: How ET Design-Build Gives Back Through Its Charitable Contributions Fund
At ET Design-Build, the work we do is about more than projects, timelines, and deliverables. It’s about giving back through charitable contributions. That’s why we’re proud to give back through a company Donor Advised Fund (DAF), a charitable giving initiative supported by both our leadership and our employees. Together, we embrace corporate social responsibility by contributing to causes that reflect the heart of our team and the values that shape our industry.

Chief Executive Officer Bill Higginbotham strongly believes in supporting environmental innovation, humanitarian efforts such as disaster relief, and lifting up those with physical challenges. He encourages a culture of giving back by engaging employees to select charitable causes that resonate most with them.  “Forming ET’s charitable foundation several years ago was an important step in putting one of our core values into action,” Higginbotham says. “It gets our employees personally involved in giving back so the company’s aggregate contributions can help make a bigger impact than when employees donate individually to worthy causes.”

Our Most Recent Move in Charitable Contributions

As we approach the 4th of July, ET is making a charitable contribution to the Wounded Warrior Project, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering post-9/11 veterans and their families. It’s a cause that resonates deeply with our company. Eight military veterans are part of the ET team, including one Purple Heart recipient. Honoring the service and sacrifice of our veterans is a privilege. We see this donation as one small way to give thanks. During this special time in our country’s history, USAA is matching donations dollar for dollar, meaning any contribution made will have an even greater impact.

ET’s Environmental Division Operations Manager, Todd Hochstein, selected Wounded Warrior Project for several reasons. “Our military doesn’t always get the recognition and assistance they deserve, especially those who suffer major physical wounds,” says Hochstein.  “They put their lives on the line doing the most dangerous things imaginable to protect our freedom. They deserve more and we need to take care of them.” Hochstein has several veteran family members and friends and is proud to work alongside ET’s Project Managers and Superintendents who served our great nation.

Our Donor Advised Fund

Our Donor Advised Fund allows ET to respond meaningfully to both national causes and personal passions. Contributions come from employees and the company itself, and the fund is thoughtfully directed toward initiatives that reflect our company culture, one rooted in compassion, responsibility, and community impact.

Past ET charitable contributions have supported:

  • Relief efforts for communities affected by hurricanes and wildfires
  • Programs addressing childhood food insecurity
  • Environmental research that supports sustainability initiatives

Whether it’s supporting those who’ve served, helping families rebuild after disaster, or addressing critical needs in our own backyards, ET is committed to making a difference.

ET is proud to stand behind the causes that matter most to our people and we’ll be sharing updates on our next charitable contribution soon.
